MANILA, Philippines – Team Philippines, bannered by Dennis Orcollo and Ronnie Alcano, barged into the Last 16 of the inaugural World Team Cup Championship in Hannover, Germany.

According to BilliardPhilippines.com, Orcollo scored double victories to spur the Philippines’ 4-1 win over Czech Republic on Tuesday (Manila time).

“Maganda ang nilaro ni Dennis against sa Czech Republic sa 9-ball at 10-ball competition. Talagang hindi niya binigyan ng pagkakataong makadikit. I hope magtuloy-tuloy ito,” Bugsy Promotions President Ceferino “Perry” Mariano told Marlon Bernardino of BilliardPhilippines.com.

Orcollo beat Roman Hybler, 8-2, in 9-ball and Lukas Krenek, 7-2, in 10-ball at Hall 13 on the Hannover Exhibition Grounds.

Antonio Lining, meantime, posted an 8-4 win in 9-ball over Michal Gavenciak.

The Philippine and Czech teams split the points in the 8-ball Scotch Doubles. The Filipinos won 6-3 while the Czechs replied with a 6-4 victory in the following game.

Joining Orcollo, Lining and Alcano in the Philippine team are Lee Van “The Slayer” Corteza, Marlon Manalo and Warren Kiamco. Their team manager is Edgar Acaba.
