MANILA, Philippines – Barangay Ginebra carved out an 85-82 victory as they raced against San Mig Coffee in a down-the-wire finish in Game 4 of their PBA Philippine Cup semifinals face-off on Wednesday.

After seeing their 14-point lead getting decimated early in the fourth quarter, the Gin Kings dug deep down to survive the Mixers and tie the best-of-7 series, 2-all.

Ginebra had a 70-56 lead near the end of the third canto when San Mig coach Tim Cone got a technical for an outburst following a call against Marc Pingris.

The incident seemed to have fired up the Mixers, with James Yap, Mark Barroca, and Justin Melton unleashing a searing 16-0 run to overtake the Gin Kings, 72-70, with over 7 minutes left in the final period.

Mac Baracael and Emman Monfort had Ginebra battling back for an 80-78 lead.

The Gin Kings were up, 83-79, when Joe Devance nailed a triple that pulled the Mixers to within a point, with 20 seconds left.

LA Tenorio was able to fish for a foul and sank both his free throws for a 3-point breather. Yap had a chance to force a deadlock, but his 3-point attempt in the dying seconds rattled out.

Baracael topscored for Ginebra with 20 points on 4-of-5 field goals attempts. He was named as the best player of the game.

LA Tenorio added 13, while Greg Slaughter had 11.

Yap, who was playing hurt with an injured elbow, managed to score 20 points. Devance finished with 13.
