MANILA, Philippines – Defending champions San Beda Red Lions and the Adamson Falcons turned back separate rivals to formally earn the top seedings in the quarterfinal round of the 9th Fr. Martin Cup.

Ryusei Koga, Kyle Pascual, Arthur dela Cruz and Rome dela Rosa all scored 10 points for the Red Lions as they routed the Lyceum Pirates, 74-60, at the St. Placid gym in the San Beda College-Manila campus.

The Red Lions ended their elimination round campaign with a 5-1 win-loss record and the No. 1 spot in Group A.

San Beda will reach the semi-final round if they beat the winner of the game between third-seeded College of St. Benilde-B and the sixth-seeded Lyceum Pirates, who will meet in the Group B wildcard playoff.

Meanwhile, the Falcons crushed the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals, 69-35, behind the 18-point performance of veteran Roider Cabrera.

Adamson wound up with a 6-0 record in Group B and got the top-seed in their bracket.

The Falcons can book a semi-finals berth if they beat the winner of the game between third-seeded Informatics Icons and sixth-seeded Mapua Cardinals.
