Tigresses claim 3rd semis slot in UAAP volley
MANILA, Philippines – The University of Sto. Tomas outplayed Adamson University, 25-22, 25-21, 25-8, to claim the third semifinals slot in UAAP women’s volleyball at the San Juan Arena on Saturday.
The victory was the 9th in 14 games for the Tigresses.
Meanwhile, Far Eastern University (FEU) forged a playoff for the last Final 4 berth by fashioning out a 25-14, 25-18, 29-27 victory over University of the East (UE).
The Lady Tamaraws and the Lady Falcons, both with 8-6 records, will dispute the remaining semis seat in a playoff on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Arena.
Lady Spikers seek sweep
De La Salle shoots for its 14th straight eliminations win against second-running Ateneo (11-2) at the Arena.
If the Lady Archers sweep, they gain a thrice-to-beat edge in the finals.
In men’s volleyball, De La Salle (9-5) clinched the last semifinals berth by trampling UP (6-8), 25-18, 25-17, 25-23.
Ateneo (2-12) ended its season with a 22-25, 25-17, 26-24, 17-25, 15-13 squeaker over UE (0-12).
