Lady Stags, Altas gun for NCAA crowns
MANILA, Philippines - San Sebastian College goes all-out today, vowing to finish off University of Perpetual Help System Dalta in Game 2 of their NCAA women’s volleyball finals at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Lady Stags turned the Lady Altas in a grueling four-setter, 26-24, 26-24, 22-25, 27-25, in the opener of their best-of-three series over the weekend, finally scoring the victory after losing four-in-row to the defending champions.
Gametime is at 6 p.m., right after the Perpetual Altas shoot for their third straight championship in the men’s finals against the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals at 4 p.m.
National coach Sinfronio “Sammy” Acaylar’s Altas won Game 1 Saturday, 25-22, 25-17, 25-16, to register their 32nd straight win since the semis of Season 86.
The Altas are seeking a grand slam victory this season and eight volleyball championships in all since joining the league in 1985.
