FEU clinches No. 1 seed in men's volleyball

MANILA, Philippines – The Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws clinched the No. 1 seed in the semi-finals of the UAAP Season 74 men’s volleyball tournament after defeating the Adamson University Falcons last weekend.

JR Labrador fired 28 hits and the Tams edged the Falcons in five sets, 24-26, 28-30, 26-24, 25-20 and 15-9.

FEU finished the elimination round with a 12-2 slate.

Arvin Avila added 20 points and the Tams came back from a two-set deficit to edge the Falcons, who ended up with a 9-5 record.

Ron Galang and John Mallapre both had 20 points for the Falcons.

Meanwhile, Jay Depante had 19 points to lift reigning four-time champions University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers to a 25-17, 25-21 and 25-21 triumph over the National University (NU) Bulldogs for the number 2 seed in the semi-finals.

The Tigers finished with an 11-3 record, while NU finished with a 7-7 slate.
