Velasquez KOs Nogueira in UFC 110
MANILA, Philippines – Cain Velasquez remained undefeated at 8-0 after stunning Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira in UFC 110 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia Saturday (Sunday in Manila).
Velasquez knocked out the former PRIDE and UFC champion at 2:20 of Round 1, according to UFC.com.
Nogueira now has a record of 32 wins, 6 losses, 1 draw and 1 no contest.
Meanwhile, Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva (33-10-1, 1 NC) and George Sotiropoulos (12-2) posted wins via unanimous decision.
Silva edged Michael “The Count” Bisping (19-3) while Sotiropoulos beat Joe “Daddy” Stevenson (36-11).
Just like Nogueira, Keith “The Dean of Mean” Jardine (14-8-1) suffered a KO loss at the hands of Ryan “Darth” Bader (12-0). Bader scored the KO at 2:10 of Round 3.
Mirko Cro Cop and Krzysztof Soszynski, meantime, both won via technical knockout stoppage (cut) over Anthony Perosh and Stephan Bonnar, respectively.
Other UFC 110 results are Chris Lytle’s win over Brian Foster by submission (leg lock), CB Dollaway’s unanimous decision victory over Goran Reljic, and James Te Huna’s TKO triumph over Igor Pokrajac.
