Pacquiao must dominate Bradley, says Roach
MANILA, Philippines – Boxing trainer Freddie Roach said Manny Pacquiao would have to dominate Timothy Bradley on June 9 if he wants to become the world’s undisputed pound-for-pound king.
"Yes, I do think Manny needs to dominate, to get a knockout on June 9. We can't keep saying Manny is the pound-for-pound king of boxing unless he does that,” Roach said during the Pacquiao-Bradley media tour in New York.
Roach told the Examiner that the Filipino champion has more to lose in this particular fight.

Aside from defending the WBO welterweight belt against Bradley, Pacquiao would also have to preserve his status as the world’s best.
“He can KO (knockout) this guy and I really want to see him dominate the fight,” said Roach. "He just needs to dominate in this particular fight."
Pacquiao won a unanimous verdict over Juan Manuel Marquez last November.
But boxing pundits said the Filipino champion looked vulnerable against Marquez’s accurate counter-punching.
The fighting congressman, however, still reigns as The Ring’s pound-for-pound champion.
Roach also said Bradley now has his biggest break in the Pacquiao fight.
Although Bradley remains undefeated and reigns as the WBO junior welterweight king, he lacks the stature of boxers like Floyd Mayweather, Juan Manuel Marquez and Miguel Cotto.
"Tim Bradley's got nothing to lose," Roach said.
