MANILA, Philippines – If things go as planned, Bacolod native Genesis “Azukal” Servania will get his much-awaited world title shot, according to ALA Promotions.

Servania, who remains undefeated in 23 fights, is rated No. 3 by the WBO behind No. 1 Chris Avalos of the US and our very own Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire at No. 2.

Donaire will debuting as a featherweight this May, while there are rumors that WBO super bantam king Guillermo Rigondeaux will follow him there, therefore setting Servania for a possible shot at the WBO belt.

“We've heard that Rigondeaux is moving up so we're just preparing Genesis Servania, kasi nandoon lang ang opportunity,” said ALA Promotions’ Dennis Canete during the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum on Tuesday.

But first, Servania will have to beat Venezuelan Alexander “El Explosivo” Muñoz, a veteran of 41 fights. They will square off at the main event of Pinoy Pride XXIV: The Future is Now this weekend.

“Grabe po ang pinagdaanan namin sa training, pinaghirapan po namin,” said Servania, who won the WBO Inter-Continental super bantamweight crown by stopping Rafael “El Torito” Concepcion last October.

“Si Muñoz ay hindi basta bastang kalaban. Kaya more than two months -- one month dun ako nagtrain sa US para sa exposure at sparring sa iba't ibang boksingero at one month dito,” he said.

Pinoy Pride XXIV will take place at the Solaire Resort and Casino on Saturday. It will be aired on ABS-CBN Channel 2 the next day starting 10 a.m.
