Pacquiao, Marquez may discuss 5th fight in Macau
MANILA, Philippines – There is a chance that Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez will meet in Macau in April to negotiate their fifth fight.
Top Rank big boss Bob Arum said Marquez and his wife, Erika, will attend the April 6 Macau fight card which will feature rising emerging Chinese boxer Zou Shiming and WBA/WBO flyweight champion Brian Viloria.
“We're going to all be leaving to go to the April 6 show,” Arum said in a report by RingTV’s Lem Satterfield. “He's coming for that."
Arum said he will also have Pacquiao and his wife, Jinkee, fetched from the Philippines so that they could attend the Macau fight card.
"Independently, I'm arranging for Manny Pacquiao to come with his wife, Jinkee, that weekend for that show as well on April 6.”
Arum said Marquez is contemplating on his choice of opponent for his fight in September.
Aside from Pacquiao, other options provided to the Mexican are WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley and Mexican bruiser Brandon Rios.
Arum believes Marquez will make his decision when he attends the Macau card.
"If it's Pacquiao, which I believe that it will be, then any kind of negotiations, we can work out [there]. We can also determine how realistic it is to do the fight in either Macao or Singapore."
