‘Pacquiao-Marquez V to take place before yearend’

MANILA, Philippines – There is no urgency in setting up a fifth fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez, according to the Mexican’s co-promoter Fernando Beltran.

With the likes of Timothy Bradley and Brandon Rios in the equation, he said it is unlikely that Pacquiao and Marquez will go straight to their rematch.

"Manny wants to face Juan Manuel Marquez and I am sure that this fight can be done,” Beltran said in Boxing Scene

“[But] I think that before this fight it is more likely that Marquez and Pacquiao will face the winners of the fights between Timothy Bradley and Ruslan Provodnikov [taking place on March 16] and Brandon Rios against Mike Alvarado [taking place on March 30]," he said.

Arum has recently offered Bradley and Rios as Marquez’s alternatives to Pacquiao.

Arum, however, said that Marquez is aware that he’ll get the biggest purse from Pacquiao. “'I understand that the money is different for me,’” he quoted Marquez as saying.

Beltran said that if both fighters decide to take interim fights, then their fifth bout will likely take place before the end of the year.
