MANILA, Philippines – Paul Bearer, the manager and sidekick of WWE wrestler the “Undertaker,” has passed away at the age of 58.
Bearer, whose real name is William Moody, was best known for his role in the Undertaker’s ring entrances.
“WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of William Moody, aka Paul Bearer. Moody made his WWE debut in 1991 as the manager of The Undertaker and went on to become a memorable part of WWE over the course of the next 20 years,” the WWE said in a statement.
“Our deepest condolences go out to Moody’s family, friends and fans.”
Details of Bearer's remains unclear, but he was known to have suffered health issues in the past decade.
Bearer was a former wrestler in the World Class Championship Wrestling, before becoming a manager for several wrestlers including the Undertaker, Mankind and Kane.
