MANILA -- Aside from being a professional basketball player, Paul Artadi's love for the sport has also made him a successful businessman.

In an interview with Karen Davila on "MyPuhunan," Artadi said he started selling basketball shoes online through his Facebook and Instagram accounts.

He started with 10 pairs of shoes, worth around P70,000. Despite the price of his products, he was able to sell all of them, and he got back his capital in just two weeks.

"Parang mabilis lang mabenta, kasi siguro nakilala nila ako na (basketball) player ako," he said.

Artadi admitted that basketball legend Michael Jordan has always been his inspiration, especially in his business.

Pimp Kicks is an online shop that sells original limited edition and special designs of Jordan shoes from the US. It also sells other kinds of shoes from popular sports brands.

According to Artadi, the Jordan 11 Bred, the pair which Jordan used in 1996, is the most popular among his products. He also has the "What the MVP" pair which he sells at P150,000.

Just like other businessmen, Artadi had a few failed businesses in the past. He used to buy and sell cars, but when he started losing money, he decided to stop.

Because he himself likes the shoes he sells, he knows that a lot of people will buy his products.

"Itong Jordan alam kong maganda 'yan, kasi bata pa ako hinihintay ko na 'yan," he said.

As a player, Artadi believes in working hard in improving his skills, by doing extra practice and shooting. Applying it in his business, he believes that for a business to succeed, the owner should be hands-on.

He has also expanded his business. Aside from shoes, Pimp Kicks also sells other sports items like watches and accessories, as well as apparel.

Celebrities like Kris Aquino, Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla and John Pratts, among others, are some of those who often avail of products from Pimp Kicks.

Artadi said fans now even call him "Mr. Pimp Kicks," on or off the basketball court.
