Tigers clash with Tropang Texters
The Coca-Cola Tigers are set to collide with All-Filipino champ Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters on Wednesday’s hardcourt action in Motolite-PBA Fiesta Conference.
The Tigers will rely on their “temporary” import J.J. Sullinger while the team’s original choice remains unavailable.
Coca-Cola mentor Kenneth Duremdes said Sullinger is well aware that his tenure concludes the moment Penny returns to Manila.
“Nothing changes. We’re still waiting for Penny’s arrival and J.J. knows that,” Duremdes said in a report posted on PBA.ph.
After losing a close game against defending champion Barangay Ginebra Wednesday last week, the Tigers won their next assignment even without Sullinger in the second half, carving out a 106-103 victory over Barako Bull Friday.
“It’s a team effort. I hope we could keep the momentum going,” Duremdes offered.
TNT, meanwhile, will be gunning for their first win in the conference.
The clash is scheduled at 4:50 p.m. at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Chot Reyes, the TNT coach, said he expects his troops to play a lot better after a 0-2 start.
“We expected to lose our first two games because we weren’t ready. But we expect to play a lot better in our next game against Asi and company,” Reyes said.
Sta. Lucia and Barangay Ginebra mix it up in the 7:30 p.m. nightcap.
