Roach to Bradley: Pacquiao means business
Hall-of-Fame trainer Freddie Roach issued a warning to unbeaten American Timothy Bradley Jr. after he and Manny Pacquiao arrived in Los Angeles for the second phase of the Filipino boxer’s training camp.
“Please tell Mr. Bradley it’s whole new ballgame,” Roach said, as quoted by RingTV. “Manny means business this time.”
Pacquiao is fighting Bradley again on April 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas after being on the losing end of a controversial decision in their first fight in June 2012.
Roach, in another RingTV interview, said Pacquiao is highly motivated to avenge that loss and regain the WBO welterweight belt that he dropped to Bradley.
“We had a great camp in the Philippines and Manny, as usual, is way ahead of schedule in his conditioning, and very motivated,” said the trainer.
“We have great sparring waiting for Manny. He wants that title back,” he added. “If Bradley thinks he’s going to see the same compassionate Manny he saw the first they fought, he’s in for a very big surprise.”
Roach was in General Santos City for the past two weeks to oversee Pacquiao’s training, but he insists the “real business” begins at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles.
