MANILA, Philippines – Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon promised to go for the finisher once he sees an opening against fast-rising fighter Dae Hwan Kim when they meet in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

Belingon will battle the undefeated Korean at the co-main event of ONE FC: War of Nations at the Negara Stadium for a possible shot at the bantamweight crown.

“He’s a brawler,” the Filipino said of Kim in a Mike Bohn’s report to MMA Junkie. “I will brawl with him and if I get the opportunity to knock him out or submit him, I’ll do it.”

Belingon has proven he has enough fire power to win by stoppage as shown by his scintillating knockout victory over erstwhile undefeated David Aranda last December.

He is also confident that his skillset is better than Kim's.

“I think I’m better everywhere,” Belingon said. “I will not underestimate him, but I think I can stand up with him and if it goes to the ground I can grapple with him.”

Kim hasn’t been beaten in 10 fights and a win against the Korean’s caliber will catapult Belingon to a possible face-off against ONE FC bantamweight king Bibiano Fernandes.

“I think I deserve a title shot if I win,” said the Lakay fighter. “Bibiano is a good fighter and he’s the champion, but if I face him in the title shot then I’ll do everything I can to win the fight.”
