World bantamweight champion Gerry Peñalosa shrugged off Juan Manuel Lopez’s knockout claims against the Filipino, saying the Puerto Rican’s fighting style will only make him “look good.”

A report posted on PhilBoxing.com said Peñalosa is unfazed with the statements of “JuanMa,” the reigning WBO junior featherweight champion.

“His style is going to make me look good. His hook (Lopez) is easy to read,” Peñalosa, the current WBO bantamweight king, said in the report.

Lopez said during the press conference of their “Champion versus Champion” match that he will be dealing Peñalosa his first knockout of his career.

“He gets forward and open so it’s easy to connect him with the straight punch or the hook that are my best, hard punches. I’m going to give him (Peñalosa) his first knockout of his career,” said the Puerto Rican champ.

The two will clash on April 25th at the Coliseo Rubén Rodríguez in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.

At stake is JuanMa’s WBO junior featherweight title.

Peñalosa is a veteran of 62 fights with 56 wins, 36 via knockouts. Lopez, meanwhile, remains undefeated in 24 fights with 22 KOs.
