Pinoy analysts: Pacquiao to emerge victorious
While boxing analysts in the United States believe the Manny Pacquiao - Juan Manuel Marquez rematch on Saturday in Las Vegas (Sunday Philippine time) is a toss-up, Philippine boxing aficionados are sure of a Pacman victory.
Two boxing analysts said Saturday that aside from an intensive training prior to the fight, Marquez has no match to Pacquiao's speed, reported ABS-CBN News correspondent Abner Mercado.
"Maganda yung training niya pagkatapos mabilis yung kamay. Yung galaw niya, si Marquez, medyo bagal eh," veteran boxing analyst Ronnie Nathanielsz said.
Nathanielsz added, Pacquiao is younger, faster, and more powerful than the Mexican champion.
"Speed kills and he has speed and power walang problema yon para sa akin... Pacquiao no other way. Pacquiao within eight rounds. I think he will win via knock out," Nathanielsz said.
A poll among twenty experts handpicked by the "Bible" of boxing Ring Magazine was dead even, 10-10, Nathanielsz had said in his article in www.philboxing.com.
Another boxing analyst, Dennis Principe, said for Pacquiao to win he has to dominate the early rounds.
"The best way for him to win this fight the best chance is in early rounds. Now for Marquez the best chance for him to win this fight is patagalin at pagurin itong si Manny Pacquiao," said Principe.
Despite the controversies and politics hounding the Philippines, on Sunday morning all Filipinos are expected to unite and cheer on the boxing champion.
"It’s about our country as a nation. Alam naman natin lahat yan eh. Lahat tayo nagkakaisa pag lumalaban siya. For me I think talaga he’s a modern hero," Principe added. With a report from Abner Mercado, ABS-CBN News
