'Heart Strong' Ateneo trends after historic win
MANILA - Ateneo's historic run towards their first ever women's volleyball crown dominated social media conversations Saturday, making their latest feat among the top trending topics on the micro-blogging site Twitter worldwide.
Considered as the underdogs of the finals, Ateneo shocked the 21,000-strong crowd at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, sweeping the three-time defending champions and arch rival De La Salle Lady Spikers, 25-23, 26-24, and 25-21.
On Twitter, netizens were quick to praise the Lady Eagles, who needed to win three times to claim the championship against a team which swept the elimination rounds.
It then prompted several terms related to the game trend locally and worldwide, including two from their winning head coach, Anusorn "Tai" Bundit, famous not only for guiding the Lady Eagles to their first crown, but also for his victory dance.
