Filipino featherweight Michael Farenas scored a third round knockout over Mexican Baudel Cardenas in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez fight at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

A report posted on Fightnews.com said Farenas dropped Cardenas twice in Round 2. He, however, connected with a vicious low blow in Round 3.

Cardenas was given the full five minutes to recover, but could not continue prompting the referee to stop the fight.

This credited Farenas with the win via technical knockout at the 2:40 mark.

Farenas' records improved to 20-2-2 with 18 wins via KO. Cardenas dropped to 17-13-2.
