Pacman clashed with promoters over 'appearance' fee?
MANILA, Philippines -- With the cancellation of his concert and party in Hawaii this weekend, 7-division champion Manny Pacquiao will be heading straight to the Philippines from Los Angeles, California.
Pacquiao, who defended his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title against Joshua Clottey last March 13, is set to arrive in Manila on Monday on board Philippine Airlines flight PR 103.
Malacañang is already planning a grand welcome for the boxing superstar, who will be vying for a congressional seat in the May 10 polls.
Deputy Presidential spokesperson Charito Planas said a hero’s welcome is already all set for Pacquiao, whom she described as a self-made hero.
Disagreement with organizers
The boxer opted to come home after his scheduled concert and party in Hawaii were both called off.
The concert, set at the Waikiki Shell on Sunday (March 21), was cancelled due to poor ticket sales, according to Ryan Chang of Island Fire Productions.
They instead tried to organize a party on Friday (March 19) and a meet-and-greet affair with the champ on Sunday to replace the botched concert.
However, Chang said they failed to reach an agreement with Pacquiao’s camp regarding the boxer’s appearance fee in the party.
Pacquiao’s camp reportedly wanted the promoter to wire the money, but the promoter refused saying that they wanted to give the money when the boxer lands in Hawaii.
The promoter refused to disclose the amount of the deal.
A report by The Honolulu Advertiser said Pacquiao, who was guaranteed to get $12 million of fight purse with Clottey, was going to earn $100,000 (around P4.5 million) for the concert.

I watched Balitang America and agreed with the survey ABS-CBN conducted about the cancellation of Manny Pacquiao's concert in Hawaii.The organizer would suffer “about $50,000 loss” if it pushed through due to low ticket sales.
I would not spend my hard earned money to watch Manny sings, boxing is fine with me, the truth is he is not a good singer though, have watched when he sung during his last interview in Jimmy Kimmel show, it was disgusting.

Walang bumili ng ticket sa concert niya. Yung mga pelikula niya walang pumunta para manood. Hello?! Manny. Gumising ka na sa sarili mong mundo at bumalik ka real world. Ang real world is ikaw ang best pound for pound boxer sa buong planeta. Diyan ka magaling. Hindi sa pagkanta, sa pagiging aktor, politician kundi boxing. kung mag retire ka na sa boxing, mag negosyo ka ba, or be a philanthropist kung gusto mo talagang makatulong sa mga tao.
@ vino 51. we did pare. they're all saying the same. pero it doesn't matter if babayaran siya or hindi. i know you know and everyone knows that manny can't sing and shouldn't be singing. maraming talented na singers at artista ngyaon who go through tick and thin trying to break into the music and film industry but then someone with absolutely no talent in singing and acting all of a sudden comes in to scene and takes that spot away from them.
Ipaabala nalng dapat ni Manny ang pagkanta and acting sa mga tunay na talented singers and actors. Kung may passion talaga si Manny sa music and movies then may pera naman siya mag start ng recording company or film production company.
