MANILA – Defending champion San Mig Coffee goes up against Air21 and its standout import Michael Dunigan when the PBA Commissioner’s Cup resumes on Wednesday.

The Mixers went through the wringer but still won, 76-71, over Meralco last Friday.

“Hopefully, we can carry this win over to our next game against Air21,” said San Mig Coffee coach Tim Cone in the league’s official website.

But Joe Devance, one of the Mixers’ big men, went down with a hyper extended knee and won’t be able to join San Mig’s game against the Express.

With one big man down, the rest of the Mixers will have to step up to contain Air21’s dominant import Dunigan.

Dunigan helped the Express go through a physical battle in their 74-68 win over Alaska last Friday.

“It was very physical out there, but I played along with it. I can handle it,” he said.

Air21 coach Franz Pumaren said they need to win against the Mixers to boost their chances of making it through the elimination round.

“Hopefully, we can sustain the effort. We look forward to our Wednesday game against San Mig Coffee. That’s a crucial game for us as we have six games left,” said Pumaren.
