Ex-PBA star Lim Eng Beng diagnosed with cancer

MANILA, Philippines – PBA legend Lim Eng Beng has been diagnosed with cancer and is currently confined at the Makati Medical Center.

The 5’11” former De la Salle Green Archer recently fell in hard times due to his medical condition and needs financial assistance.

“We just received the sad news that former De La Salle Green Archer, DLSU Sports Hall of Famer and Philippine basketball legend Lim Eng Beng has been diagnosed with cancer and is in Makati Medical Center right now,” according to a statement posted on the De La Salle Green Archers’ Facebook page.

“Because of the big financial burden, he is in need of assistance. Let's all extend whatever help we can in this time of need and offer our prayers. We will advise everyone on how donations, etc. can be given. Thank you very much!”

Lim, who wore jersey No. 14, is one of the best basketball players produced by De La Salle University. He was named among the 25 greatest players in PBA history.

He played for the U/Tex Wranglers during the late 1970s to the early 1980s wherein the team two championships and two runner-up finishes.
