Angry Donaire promises to shut 'Rigo's mouth
MANILA – Four-division champion Nonito Donaire Jr. wasn't pleased with Guillermo Rigondeaux’s trash talk, and he vowed to silence the Cuban on fight night.
Donaire reacted to Rigondeaux’s latest tirade where the Cuban claimed he can knock out all of the Filipino Flash’s opponents in just one day.
“[Rigondeaux] is always shooting his mouth off. I’m going to shut his mouth and knock him out,” said the Filipino boxer in an interview with Boxing Scene’s Ronne Nathanielsz.
The Filipino Flash will be staking his WBO super bantamweight title as he seeks a title unification against WBA champion Rigondeaux.
The bout is set on April 13 at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
Meanwhile, Donaire said the departure from his team of nutrition coach Victor Conte will have no impact.
“We just decided to go our separate ways. No problems. It’s the thing they chose to do,” he said.
“I’m training hard and will just be ready for the fight.”
