MANILA, Philippines – Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva said he is anxious to get back at UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, whom he’ll face in May.
Silva said he’d like to redeem himself from his first-round technical knockout loss to Velasquez last year.
“My training will be the same, but in this fight, I'm very excited to fight,” the 6’4” Brazilain said in Sherdog.
Silva said they have tapped a wrestler to help him prepare against the UFC heavyweight champ.
“He fought Cain Velasquez seven times in college. It's his first time in MMA and he helped me a lot,” he said.
In their first fight in UFC 146, Velasquez inflicted a cut on Silva’s head, causing problems to the slower but heftier fighter.
Silva said he could have better chances at Velasquez minus the cut.
He vowed never to commit the same mistakes he had in that fight.
“This fight will be totally different,” Silva said of their rematch.
