MANILA, Philippines – Former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Dan Henderson said fellow ex-PRIDE fighter Mauricio "Shogun" Rua will regret facing him again when they meet at the main event of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Fight Night this weekend.

Henderson engaged Rua in a blood-and-guts battle more than two years ago for a unanimous decision in UFC 139.

The bout was voted as the 2011 Fight of the Year and was described by most mixed martial arts (MMA) fans as one of the greatest MMA bouts in UFC history.

"[Rua] showed a lot of heart and proved he could take a pretty good punch," the 43-year-old "Hendo" said in UFC.com.

"Those are the biggest things I took from the fight. It surprised me a little bit that he was able to hang in there on some of those shots and how much heart he had. He stayed in there pretty well."

Henderson expects another tough exchange with Rua, who recently knocked the lights out of James Te-Huna in UFC Fight Night: Hunt vs Bigfoot.

He expects the rematch to go the distance just like their first encounter.

"I’m expecting to go five rounds with me getting into a five-round war with him. It’s going to be a tough fight I’m sure… He’s the one who was asking for this rematch for a while so he’s going to get it and I’m going to make sure he’s going to regret asking for it," said Henderson.
