Rashad worried about being cut from UFC
MANILA, Philippines – Former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans feels a sense of urgency ahead of his UFC 161 bout against future hall-of-famer Dan Henderson.
Evans, who lost two straight fights, thinks he might get cut from the UFC if he loses to the former PRIDE champion.
"My back is against the wall, and this is when I perform at my best. In the fight business, you're only as good as your next fight. If you lose two or three then you're done,” Evans said in SI’s Fan Nation.
Evans lost to his former friend Jon Jones in April 2012, before losing again to Antonio Rogerio Rogueira last February.
He hopes his luck changes when he battles Henderson in June.
“My manager Bill Robinson always says, 'You're either one fight away from getting a title shot and becoming champion or you're two losses away from being cut from UFC,'" Evans said.
