Pacquiao looks forward to training with Khan again
MANILA, Philippines – After a 4-month break from boxing, Manny Pacquiao is excited about training again.
The 8-division champion said he will again open camp in Baguio City, where he will train alongside British boxing champion Amir Khan.
“Maganda sa akin ‘yung training with Amir Khan,” Pacquiao told ABS-CBNnews.com. “Actually andito na si Amir Khan sa Pilipinas.”
Pacquiao is due to defend his WBO welterweight title against Timothy Bradley on June 9.
Khan is preparing for a May 19 rematch against Lamont Peterson.
The British-Pakistani is currently staying in Manila Conditioning coach Alex Ariza is likewise in the country.
Although Pacquiao won’t be sparring with Khan this time around, the Filipino champion said training with a former boxing champion is always helpful.
“Nakakatulong din naman siya sa training ko,” said the fighting congressman from Sarangani province.
Pacquiao added he is looking forward to returning to the “City of Pines.”
“Magandang mag-training camp sa Baguio. High altitude kasi, nakakatulong sa stamina," he said.
After a few weeks in Baguio, Pacquiao will fly to Los Angeles for the remainder of his training.
