Pacquiao finds ally in Floyd's adviser
Manny Pacquiao has found an unlike ally in Leonard Ellerbe, a close friend and personal assistant of Floyd Mayweather, in his upcoming rematch against welterweight champion Timothy Bradley.
Ellerbe believes Pacquiao won the first fight and will win again when the rematch takes place on April 12 in Las Vegas.
"I think Manny will win the fight. He won the first one,” he said in Boxing Scene, referring to Bradley’s controversial split decision over the Filipino super star in June 2012.
Ellerbe said the unbeaten American may be a slick fighter, but he believes Pacquiao will be overpowering when the two meet again.
“Bradley is a terrific young fighter, but I think Pacquiao is too much for him. And I think that night the fans will see the result of that," he said.
Meanwhile, Ellerbe maintained that Mayweather wasn’t eluding the sought-after mega bout with the Filipino, saying that if there’s anyone to blame for the mess, it is Pacquiao’s promoter, Top Rank’s CEO Bob Arum.
"Everybody knows why the fight hasn't happened and it's because of his promoter," said Ellerbe.
