EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey - Rod Carney buried a pair of three pointers and Louis Williams scored seven points in 80 seconds to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 108-99 win over fading New Jersey on Tuesday.

The 76ers (38-37) moved within one-half game of Toronto (38-36) for sixth place in the Eastern Conference with the win.

They are 3 1/2 games ahead of the eighth-place Atlanta Hawks (34-40) with seven games remaining as they pursue their first playoff birth since the 2004-05 season.

Andre Miller had 24 points and 11 assists and Andre Iguodala added 17 and 10 as Philadelphia avoided a three-game losing streak and won for the 14th time in its last 19 games.

Willie Green scored 16 points and Samuel Dalembert collected 15 and 13 rebounds for the Sixers (38-37).

Meanwhile, playoff hopes are fading fast for the Nets (31-44), who fell 3 1/2 games behind the Hawks and play five of their final seven games on the road.

Vince Carter scored 29 points and Devin Harris added 22 for New Jersey, which played little defence and has lost five of its last seven games, including three in a row.
