The foreign opponents of Filipinos scheduled to fight at the “Invasion: Philippines vs. the World” boxing face-off started arriving in Manila Wednesday, brimming with confidence that they will win over their foes.

Among those who came was Mexican boxer Genaro Camargo, who endured a 21-hour flight before arriving at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Camargo, who will face Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista for an attempt to win the WBO Intercontinental junior featherweight crown, was accompanied by his team.

“I’m quite tired but I trained hard for this fight. I came here to win,” he told reporters in Spanish.

Ratanachai Sor Vorapin of Thailand also arrived Wednesday for his championship bout with WBO bantamweight champion Gerry Peñalosa.

Vorapin wants to avenge his loss to Peñalosa during their first meeting in 2000. The Filipino knocked him out cold at their first fight.

Some of the Filipino fighters also arrived in Manila from their training camp in Cebu.

Bautista said he is raring to face Camargo on the ring. “When I see an opening… lights out… the fight is done,” he said in Filipino.

For his part, AJ “Bazooka” Banal, who will face WBC contender Caril Herrera of Uruguay, said he is all set for the Sunday's fight.

“I’m prepared for Sunday,” he said.

Banal will have a tougher challenge with the undefeated Herrera, who was described by analysts as a “very strong” fighter.

“Invasion: Philippines vs. the World” will be aired by ABS-CBN on Sunday in cooperation with Golden Boy Promotions and ALA Gym.
