MANILA, Philippines – San Miguel Beer fought back from 18 points down to hack out a 93-85 come-from-behind win against Air21 on Wednesday’s PBA Commissioners Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Beermen improved to 7 wins against 2 defeats, which allowed them to take the No. 2 spot and a twice-to-beat incentive in the quarterfinals.

Import Kevin Jones topscored San Miguel beer with 19 points, which went with his 14 rebounds. Arwind Santos added 18, while Marcio Lassiter had 17.

According to the PBA website, the Beermen were trailing 55-72 going into the final quarter when they unloaded 38 points against the Express.

“Our goal in the elims is to win as many games as we can,” San Miguel coach Biboy Ravanes said prior the match. “This is a game that we will try our very best not to slip away.”
