BOSTON, Massachusetts – Boston Celtics forward Leon Powe will miss the rest of the National Basketball Association playoffs with a torn knee ligament, the team said Tuesday.

The Celtics, bidding to defend their 17th NBA championship, were already without Kevin Garnett.

Boston defeated the Chicago Bulls 118-115 on Monday to level their best-of-seven Eastern Conference first-round series at one game apiece.

Powe hurt himself on a spin move but stayed on the court three more minutes trying to play.

Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo was skipping practice on Tuesday and Wednesday with a sprained ankle, but coach Doc Rivers said Rondo would be able to play in game three of the series on Thursday.
