Injury sidelines TNT's Dillinger for rest of season
MANILA, Philippines – Talk ‘N Text forward Jared Dillinger will be missing the rest of the 2012-2013 PBA season after sustaining a serious injury during a road accident last Saturday.
According to the team’s statement, Dillinger suffered a fracture in his pelvic bone after he crashed his SUV nto a post along the Skyway road in Paranaque City
“[His] left iliac wing (pelvic bone) was found to have a comminuted fracture with 60% inward displacement. This type of fracture poses a risk to professional basketball players who have to deal with all the running, jumping and contact involved with the sport,” said the statement posted on the Philippine Star.
The 6’5” Filipino-American, who is also part of the Gilas-Pilipinas team, is scheduled to undergo treatment on Wednesday and will have to go through months of rehabilitation.
"Jared will miss the rest of the PBA Season and will not be part of the Gilas campaign this coming August."
This could affect Talk ‘N Text’s bid to win back-to-back title wins following its Philippine Cup conquest.
The Texters are currently tied 1-1 with Barangay Ginebra in their best-of-five semifinals.
