Ginebra's 'The Spark' eyes return in Game 3
MANILA, Philippines – It looks like Mark Caguioa will rejoin Barangay Ginebra in Game 3 of their semifinals duel against Talk 'N Text on May 8.
"The Spark" is now back in practice after completing the rehabilitation of his injured medial collateral ligament (MCL), according to a report by Spin.ph's Snow Badua.
"Yes, tumatakbo na ako. I’ve been working out on the court already," said Caguioa, who is working to get back in shape for the semifinals.
"I’ve been doing defensive stance, lateral movements. Lahat ng gagawin ko sa game, ginagawa ko na to make sure I am ready when I get back."
The 33-year-old shooting guard hurt his knee during their battle against Meralco last March.
The injury has sidelined him for 3 weeks.
Ginebra throttled Talk 'N Text in Game 1 of their best-of-five semifinal showdown, 104-81. The Texters leveled the series with an 85-79 win in Game 2.
Caguioa hopes he can return in Game 3 to boost his team's chances against the Texters.
"My target really is to play in Game 3. I am doing everything to come back. Sino ba ang ayaw maglaro?" he said.
