Mommy D prays for Pacquiao victory
MANILA, Philippines – Dionesia Pacquiao, fondly known as Manny Pacquiao's "Mommy D," said she will pray for her son's safety and victory in his June 9 title defense against Timothy Bradley.
Mommy D said she may not be watching the fight live, but assured she will be with her son in spirit as she offers her fervent prayers back home.
"Anak goodluck sa laban mo, galingan mo. Dito lang ako suporta sa 'yo, importanteng magdasal, magdasal tayo," she said.
Mommy D also urged his son not to forget to make a sign of the cross before trading punches against Bradley.
“’Wag mong iwanan yung sign of the cross. Suntukin mo yung kalaban mo, kaliwa, kanan,” she said.
Mommy D said she is pleased that her son has renewed his faith.
She also wants her son to retire from boxing soon to protect his health. – With a report from Chat Ansagay, ABS-CBN General Santos City
