MANILA, Philippines – Ex-light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida will go up against former title contender Ryan Bader in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on FOX in August.
According to ESPN, the fight is expected to take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on August 4.
It will be Machida’s first Octagon appearance since losing to reigning light heavyweight champion Jon Jones in December 2011.
The defeat was Machida's third career loss in 20 UFC fights.
Bader, on the other hand, will be coming off two consecutive wins.
In his most-recent outing, he defeated former light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
The August 4 event will also feature a middleweight fight between former Bellator champion Hector Lombard and Brian Stann.
