'Ring Kings' face off in final presser
LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Miguel Cotto stood face-to-face during the final press conference of the “Ring Kings” which takes place at the MGM Grand on “Cinco de Mayo.”
World Boxing Council (WBC) president Don Jose Sulaiman graced the event.
He described Mayweather and Cotto as the elite of the elite.
Aside from Cotto’s WBA junior middleweight crown, also at stake in the fight is WBC’s Diamond belt.
“The Diamond Belt was presented only to immortal champions to boxers of the top elite, I don’t believe we can find more elite than Cotto and Mayweather,” he said.
Mayweather said he has decided to fight Cotto because the Puerto Rican was man enough to arrange the bout.
“I’m glad it happened. With Miguel, he was on his own, he can dictate what he want,” said Mayweather.
Cotto, on the other hand, said he wants a quick end in the fight.
“I’m going to be quick like always… I had a tremendous camp in Orlando,” said the WBA champion.
