Floyd reminds Cotto: I'm no Margarito, Foreman

MANILA, Philippines – Floyd Mayweather Jr. reminded Miguel Cotto that he will be facing a top notch boxer this weekend, unlike the Puerto Rican champion’s past opponents.

"I'm not Antonio Margarito, I'm not Yuri Foreman. He's facing Floyd Mayweather. This is a little different,” Mayweather said in Boxing Scene.

Mayweather's statement came after Cotto’s Cuban coach, Pedro Diaz, said he was not impressed with Floyd's fighting style.

Mayweather advised Diaz to take care of his fighter.

“I don't want them to remotely put in his mind that this is going to be an easy task. I don't think he thinks this is going to be an easy task," said the controversial boxer.

Mayweather will be challenging Cotto for the WBA junior middleweight crown in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

He said his speed will be too much for Cotto to handle.

He said that if the slow moving Margarito was able to connect against Cotto, he’ll probably swamp the Puerto Rican with more punches.

"Even though Antonio Margarito cheated, he's not that fast and he was still able to hit [Cotto] with those shots."
