Underdog Cotto says Floyd not invincible
MANILA, Philippines – Underdog Puerto Rican star Miguel Cotto said he knows what he must be do to beat undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.
"I don't need anyone to say I have a chance," Cotto said in Yahoo! Sports.
"I trust myself. If I trust my work, my preparations, I don't need anyone else [to say I can win.]"
Cotto is the defending champion in this weekend’s WBA junior middleweight title bout against Maywather.
Ironically, only 1 out of 7 believes he can pull off an upset against the slick fighting American.
But Cotto said nobody is unbeatable, not even Mayweather.
"Nobody is invincible in life," Cotto said. "I know that because I passed through that point in my life.”
The Puerto Rican said he is ready against everything that Mayweather will put up in the fight.
“The question is, is Floyd ready for anything Miguel can bring to him? I'm trusting in myself. I know what I have to do to get the victory."
