Koscheck: Daley has puncher’s chance in UFC 113
MANILA, Philippines – Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Josh “Kos” Koscheck said that fight fans should await how he is going to finish off Paul “Semtex” Daley in UFC 113: Shogun vs Machida 2 on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).
Koscheck told UFC.com, “It’s gonna be an exciting fight, and the fans are gonna be tuning in because they just never know what Josh Koscheck’s gonna do. Is he gonna strike? Is he gonna throw Paul Daley on his head and choke him out? Is he gonna ground and pound him? Or is he gonna mix it up and head kick him?”
“There are so many ways that I can finish a fight, and I’m a fighter,” he added.
Koscheck will aim to improve his 16-4 record in The Octagon at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.
He then commented on his 27-year-old opponent, who has an overall MMA record of 23-8-2. “As for Daley, this guy has only one chance on May 8th and that’s a puncher’s chance,” he said.
Koscheck, 32, will also seek to follow up his twin victories last year over Anthony Johnson and Frank Trigg.
He beat Johnson by submission (choke) in UFC 106 on November 21 and Trigg by technical knockout(TKO) in UFC 103 on September 19. Before those wins, he lost to Paulo Thiago by TKO in UFC 95 on February 21.
Daley also posted double wins over Dustin Hazelett via KO in UFC 108 on January 2 and Martin Kampmann by TKO in UFC 103.
