PBA heads to Laoag for 2012 All-Star
Casio heads Rookies, Yap leads Vets
MANILA, Philippines -- The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) heads to Laoag City for the 2012 PBA All-Star festivities that will begin on Wednesday.
According to PBA.ph, league Commissioner Chito Salud and chairman Mamerto Mondragon will head the main batch of delegates going to the northern Luzon city.
Bulk of the contingent will be composed of the Rookies-Sophomores-Juniors (RSJ) squad, which will square off against the Veterans in the main event of the All-Star classic this Sunday.
JV Casio will be the RSJ main man to be supported by Marcio Lassiter, Dylan Ababou, Josh Urbiztondo, Japeth Aguilar, Rabeh Al-Hussaini, Mac Baracael, Rico Maierhofer, Marc Barroca, Chris Ross and Paul Lee.
Powerade’s Bo Perasol will call the shots for RSJ.
Meanwhile, James Yap heads the Veterans along with Arwind Santos, Gary David, Marc Pingris, JC Intal, L.A. Tenorio, Alex Cabagnot, Ranidel de Ocampo, Gabe Norwood and Sonny Thoss.
Meralco coach Ryan Gregorio will coach the Vets.
The four-day affair will serve as a follow-up to the spectacular Commissioner’s Cup finals between B-Meg Derby Ace and Talk 'N Text.
B-Meg took the crown after taking the best-of-seven finals to the distance.
