Dionesia Pacquiao, who will turn 60 on May 15, revealed that Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao promised to have her house renovated for her birthday.

ABS-CBN’s Jay Dayupay reported that Dionesia is not even excited about her son’s arrival in General Santos City, but she is thrilled over her upcoming birthday celebration.

Pacquiao arrived at the GenSan airport Tuesday morning and was welcomed by officials from GenSan and Sarangani province.

Streamers were in place ahead of Manny’s motorcade that began in GenSan and ended in Kiamba municipality, Sarangani province.

Meantime, Dionesia mentioned that her grand birthday party will be hosted by “the People’s Champ.” She will don a violet gown that Manny bought for $600.

House renovation

She also gave details on the house renovation that the pound-for-pound king promised as a birthday present.

Dionesia said that her three-bedroom abode will be expanded. “Iparenovate itong bahay para ang sasakyan ko sa tagiliran lang ng bahay ko,” she told ABS-CBN’s “Umagang Kay Ganda.” 

When asked about what she wants done to her house, she replied “Simple lang ang gusto ko… basta maluwag-luwag.”

She added that she wants her renovated home to have four or five rooms.

Meanwhile, Dionesia also said that she remains the same even if she has adjusted to living the good life.

“Nakasanayan ko naman ito na ganito ang buhay namin pero ang isip ko, ang ugali ko hindi nag-iba. Kung ano ako dati, kung gaano ang ugali ko dati, ganun din pagtingin ko sa tao,” she stressed.

“Nagbabago ang pamumuhay namin hindi na katulad sa dati na talagang mahirap kami,” related Dionesia. With a report from Jay Dayupay, ABS-CBN News General Santos
