Roach: Pacquiao ready for Bradley's dirty fighting
MANILA, Philippines – Boxing trainer Freddie Roach says nobody’s unbreakable; not even a brick wall like Timothy Bradley.
In HBO’s Face Off between Manny Pacquiao and Bradley, Roach reacted to an earlier call out made by the American boxer on the Filipino champion.
“Manny Pacquiao, come break down this wall, baby,” was Bradley’s challenge, referring to his unshakable will in the ring.
But Roach retorted that Bradley’s wall will eventually collapse in the face of Pacquiao’s relentless attack.
“Anyone can be broken,” said the esteemed boxing coach. “We'll see how great his chin is.”
During the face-off, Bradley related that he took a long journey just to get his his ultimate dream fight against Pacquiao.
He said he’ll make the best out of the chance given him when they square off on June 9.
“I felt that I deserve him, I feel that deep inside I can beat him... Manny Pacquiao is a great fighter but he can't break me down,” said Bradley, who remained undefeated in 29 fights.
He admitted admiring Pacquiao, but stressed that to be the No. 1 fighter, he’ll have to beat the Filipino superstar.
“I like Manny a lot. He's also a great role model... but the key thing is being No. 1. I gotta hurt him.”
Roach, who did most of the talking for Pacquiao, said he’s already studied Bradley’s style.
The trainer said the thing that concerns him the most is Bradley’s head butts.
“I think he's a dirty fighter... I've seen Tim fight many times, I know how he fights, his style... we'll be ready for that.”
He is confident that with Pacquiao’s work ethic, the Filipino will get the better of the exchange.
“It should be action packed. I don't see this going the distance,” said Roach.
