MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao’s Mexican rival, Juan Manuel Marquez, is looking forward to fighting the Filipino boxing icon for the third time.

Marquez, the World Boxing Association (WBA) and World Boxing Organization (WBO) lightweight champion, told Examiner.com he knows the secret to beating the 8-division champion.

"You have to match his rhythm," said Marquez. "You have to match his speed with speed and when he throws punches, you have to counter-punch with the same velocity."

Marquez, one of the best technical boxers of his generation, has given Pacquiao two of his toughest career fights.

The Mexican champion fought the Filipino superstar to controversial draw in 2004. Pacquiao then won a split decision over Marquez 4 years later.

Since their last face-off, Pacquiao went on to become the only 8-division champion in the world. He is the reigning WBO welterweight champion.

Marquez has been offered $5 million for a third fight against Pacquiao tentatively set on November 12.

The bout will take place at a 144-pound catch weight in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Marquez admitted that Pacquiao, who is coming off a unanimous decision win over Shane Mosley, has made improvements on his game since they last fought.

"Pacquiao has improved," said Marquez. "He has improved his right hand and uses it well, you could see it in his last fight against Shane Mosley."
