MANILA, Philippines – Filipino teen netter Jeson Patrombon leveled his head-to-head standing with German Kevin Krawietz after a hard-fought win in the 1st Round of the 51st Trofeo Bonfiglio 2010 in Milan, Italy.

Patrombon, 17, saw off Krawietz, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6(5), to level off his standing, 1-1, with the German.

Krawietz beat Patrombon in the opening round of the Loy Yang Traralgon International in Australia in January.

Patrombon will next face Brazilian Vitor Galvao, who defeated Chilean Pedro Verdugo, 6-2, 6-2.

Francis Casey Alcantara, however, was not as fortunate on the red clay as he crashed out of the 1st round.

The 18-year-old Alcantara lost to Mexican Alexis Carlos, 7-5, 3-6, 1-6.

The 51st Trofeo Bonfiglio 2010 will run until May 23. – With a report from the International Tennis Federation (ITF)
