MANILA, Philippines – The Meraclo Bolts now have an import for the upcoming PBA Governors Cup.

Meralco acquired 24-year-old Juan Patillo, who played for Bakersfield Jam in the NBA D-League, according to PBA.ph.

Patillo is a former teammate of NBA slam-dunk king Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Patillo was with Griffin at University of Oklahoma in the 2008-09 varsity season in the US NCAA.

Meralco officials are confident that Patillo will make the PBA’s 6'5" height ceiling.

Patillo is listed at 6'6" but the Bolts’ coaching staff have been assured by their US contacts that the measurement is exaggerated.

Meralco was supposed to get import Devin Green.

But Green measured above the league’s 6'6" height limit.
