It will be Matt vs. Matt in the Octagon for UFC 98 on Saturday night (Sunday in Manila) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Former UFC welterweight champs Matt Hughes and Matt Serra will battle it out in the event headlined by UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans and challenger Lyoto Machida.

Hughes and Serra, both hail from the United States. Hughes is from Hillsboro, Illinois while Serra is fighting out of East Meadow, New York.

Serra, also known as "The Terror," has 16 wins and five losses in his MMA record card.

"I’m lucky to get back in there with a guy like Matt Hughes; there’s nobody in the world I’d rather fight right now," he told Ufc.com.

His appearance in UFC 83 resulted in a loss to Georges St-Pierre via technical knockout. Serra earlier defeated St-Pierre by TKO in 2007 at UFC 69. He also won in 2006's The Ultimate Fighter 4 Finale by split decision over Chris Lytle.

Hughes also defeated Lytle via unanimous decision in UFC 68 in 2007. He lost his next fights to St-Pierre in UFC 79 by submission (arm lock) and Thiago Alves by TKO in UFC 85.

"I've been training hard and I'm going to have to focus a lot on my wrestling. I think it's going to be a good fight," commented Hughes whose record is 43-7.

Hughes is set to challenge Serra with his takedowns, wrestling ability and physical strength. Serra, meantime, is expected to fight with his aggressive styles and submissions.
