It seems that Manny Pacquiao does not only inspire his countrymen but other Asians as well.

In fact, World Boxing Council vice-president and Thai police general Kovid Bhakdibhumi has dubbed the Filipino ring warrior as “Hero of All Asia”.

According to sports Web site Insidesports.ph, the Thai official heaped praises at Pacquiao during the latter’s trip to Thailand last Monday.

“[He’s] not just a hero of the Philippines but a hero of all Asia,” Bhakdibhumi was quoted as saying. “His victory is also our victory”.

No less than Thai Prime Minister Abhisit commended Pacquiao for being an inspiration to children in Southeast Asia, saying: “He is a good example for children in the region and inspires them take up boxing.”

Pacquiao, together with business manager Eric Pineda, lawyer Franklin “Jeng” Gacal and four San Miguel Corporation executives, visited Thailand, which was described as “a hotbed of boxing”.
