MANILA, Philippines – American boxer Timothy Bradley Jr. is prepared to fight a technical boxing match against Filipino ring icon Manny “Pacman”Pacquiao, but is ready for a brawl too, if necessary.

Bradley will challenge Pacquiao for the WBO welterweight title on June 9 in Las Vegas in what will be the most high-profile bout of his career to date.

During his media workout in his California gym, a confident Bradley told reporters that he is ready to both brawl and box with Pacquiao.

“We’re working 50-50. Fifty percent on boxing, 50% on brawling,” he said, as quoted by RingTV.

Bradley said he is prepared to “fight with in-fighting,” something that Pacquiao does not do well.

“He doesn’t (fight well in-fighting). You look at all his fights, he doesn’t fight well inside. He throws flurries, combinations and then he gets out,” Bradley said.

“He steps out and throws and then comes back with a shot.”

The undefeated Bradley is confident that Pacquiao will not “stand there and bang” with him come fight night.

“Maybe they’re working on it now, trying to back me up. But we’re aware of that and we’re aware of anything. Maybe he will come forward and try to bang me out,” he said.

“Then, that’s when I’ll box him. I’m very schooled. I know when to box and I know when to brawl, and I’ve just got to put it all together. Plain and simple,” Bradley added.

Bradley said he has already put together a plan to neutralize Pacquiao’s vaunted left straight, and is confident he can deal with the Filipino boxer’s punching power.

But although he believes he will win, Bradley insists he is not underestimating Pacquiao, who is considered one of two best fighters in the world along with unbeaten American Floyd Mayweather Jr.

“I think that he’s going to be at his very, very best, and he’s definitely going to try to take me out of there early,” he said.
